Querétaro seeks to promote tourism projects with the Development Bank of Latin America (CAF) / @makugo @gobqro >>>

#QroThe Government of the State of Queretaro, with the participation of the Ministries of Tourism, Finance, Urban Development and Public Works, and Social Development, held a working meeting with the Director of Tourism of the Development Bank of Latin America (CAF), Oscar Rueda Garcia, and the Regional Manager for Mexico and Central America, Rene Orellana Halkyer, with the intention of establishing joint actions to promote tourism projects in the state.

The Secretary of Tourism in Querétaro, Adriana Vega Vázquez Mellado, headed the meeting, in which she informed that the main objective of this strategic alliance is to seek international financing mechanisms to develop tourism projects.

CAF’s Director of Tourism, Oscar Rueda, stated that the purpose of this organization is to support member countries, governments and entrepreneurs in taking advantage of their tourism potential as a factor for development and job creation, with special emphasis on environmental, social, cultural and economic sustainability; therefore, having this approach with the state of Querétaro opens the possibility of analyzing the bank’s collaboration to promote projects presented by the State Government.

Currently, the Development Bank of Latin America has the participation of countries such as Argentina, Barbados, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, El Salvador, Spain, Jamaica, Mexico, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Portugal, Dominican Republic, Trinidad and Tobago, Uruguay and Venezuela, in addition to 13 private banking institutions.

Prior to the work meeting, the State Secretary of Tourism, accompanied by leaders of the conchero dance groups, offered the CAF Director of Tourism a guided tour of the traditional neighborhood of San Francisquito, in the center of the city of Querétaro, where they showed the history, culture and gastronomy of this place for generations.
